Every kid deserves parents, but not every parent deserves a kid. Every kid in the world deserves to be loved and taken care of, but unfortunately, there are more kids than fit parents in the world. It's objectively good for the population that it's so easy to have a baby, and I'm not one of those eugenicists who thinks only the smartest, most successful people deserve to have children, but you've got to admit that the low barrier to enter parenthood isn't always beneficial. Sometimes, people have kids because they think a baby will solve the seemingly insurmountable problems that run their lives. I am here to tell you that if your life is a mess, a kid won't automatically make you an upstanding member of society. If you can't help but watch bad parents be proud of their poor choices, these parenting texts are shining examples of just that.
