The key to having an OK workday is having something to look forward to (other than logging off and/or going home). Perhaps you pack yourself something nice for lunch and actually manage to hold out on eating it until your lunch break. Maybe you have a coworker you actually like, so you make the effort to speak to them when you have a spare few minutes, or maybe you just slack off by looking at work memes. They are technically related to having a job, so you can tell yourself that they count towards your productivity. The only difference is that they're amusing, and probably not what your boss wants to see when they look over your shoulder. That's ok, though, because they make the minutes go by that little bit easier. When there are so many parts to working that threaten our happiness and sanity, that's one of the best things that we can ask for.
