As you grow older, the hobbies that used to shape your life tend to fall away. This could be for money reasons (those oil paints aren't going to pay for themselves), getting embarrassed (it's not cute to be a 40-year-old open mic comedian in a Rust Belt city), or truly aging out of things (once you leave college there are fewer and fewer opportunities to engage in team sports). If you're working around the clock to provide for your family and truly don't have time for frivolous hobbies, I'll give you a pass to be hobbyless for now. However, if you're childless in your mid-twenties with an email job and need to wrack your brain to think of a hobby to engage in, you need to make a major change in your life. One 25-year-old asked Twitter what hobbies someone their age could do, and the responses were both helpful and inspiring.
