Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for February 2nd, 2024. Well, itâs Groundhog Day. Again. No Sonny and Cher around these parts, though. Just a whole lot of new games to look at, the vast majority of which are not very good. Weâll do our best with the ingredients we have. After that, we have some lists of sales to check out, with a decent selection of fresh ones to consider and several outgoing ones to make a decision on. Letâs wrap up the week before it all starts over again!
The popular manga is now a two-on-two fighting game, featuring all the familiar characters like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Satoru Gojo. It looks very much in line with Bandai Namcoâs usual arena battlers, which means it should be good enough to please fans of the property. I personally am not very familiar with this manga past its name, nor am I all that into arena battlers, so I donât have much input to give here. Research further as needed.
A side-scrolling action game about a young woman who is trapped inside her own mind. A scythe called the Dreamcutter offers to help her escape, but at what cost? This is one of those cases where an adult game on PC has had its saucier scenes stripped out so that it can be released on consoles, and like many of those games it doesnât fare spectacularly well when the gameplay has to carry the package. Not that there arenât still some lewd scenes in here, mind you. Perhaps that will be enough to sell you on what is otherwise a very so-so game.
A quirky visual novel about a mad doctor whose research is stolen by someone who pretended to be in love with him. Broken-hearted and vengeful-minded, Dr. Frank seeks to build the ultimate artificial life form in order to one-up his ex. Heâs also going to make him ultra-hot to add a little jealousy on top. You not only get to follow along with the story, but also have input on which parts will be used for your boyfriend and how youâll dress him. There are multiple endings based on the decisions you make along the way.
This is a side-scrolling action-platformer, one that feels like itâs trying to pay homage to Castlevania with its monster-hunting theme and variety of sub-weapons. It just doesnât feel very good to play, however. The collision detection is really hard to get a handle on, and that leads to a lot of missed attacks and damage that feels unfair. I mean, itâs only a fiver, but there are better games you can grab even at this price point.

Alright, we survived that extremely dire Bin Bunch. Letâs see whatâs what in the sales today. Looks like cheap Kemcos, cheap Kairosofts, and cheap FDGs. Itâs time to party like itâs the mobile gaming business ten years ago, it seems. Not a whole lot in that weekend outbox, but Iâll leave it to you see if anything there is to your liking.
