The world used to be a whole lot simpler. Moms baked pies, Dads played catch with us, and we'd always find time for the Friday night showing of The Brady Bunch. Whether or not this family structure was your reality, it was certainly something we always hoped for back in the 70s. A childhood with a hall closet full of board games, fort-building materials, and papermaché sure beats this new iPad lifestyle.
And by the time the 80s rolled along, we had just enough time in our week to be too cool for school, learning new tricks on our roller skates, fluffing our hair to the max, and smacking Bubble Yum gum as we waltzed down the street with our best buds. This was before cell phones blinded us all–we lived in the moment, talking with friends, revving our cars, and planning our next house party, pickup softball game, or maybe, just maybe, a night out in the big city to see some hair metal band with leather pants. Life was good.
