When you look at yourself in the mirror, who do you see? SpongeBob or Squidward. Recently, I've been seeing more and more of Patrick Star, but that does not fit neatly into the dichotomy I'm presenting. When you're a kid, it's so easy to be a SpongeBob, but as time marches on and your dreams start to die, becoming the Squidward seems more inevitable than ever. But it doesn't have to be this way. Even if you're not going to return to the level of optimism you had when you were ten, you can still do better than a Squidwardian (shoutout to Natalie Wynn for that term) outlook. Imagine who Squidward would be if he quit his awful job, fully pursued his art, and treated his neighbors with a modicum of respect. He wouldn't be the squid we loved, but he'd be a better squid for himself. If you're trying to lean towards a Spongebobian (which doesn't have the same ring to it) attitude, these positive memes might help you on that journey.
