How come, in science fiction, aliens usually look like bipedal green or gray guys with big heads? Why has that become the accepted image of an alien in our culture? Is green the farthest thing we can think of from regular human skin color? Where did the huge black eyes come from? Why are their heads shaped like that? If they could be literally anything imaginable, then why do they look a lot like humans?
I'm sure that image was the invention of some nut back in the day and then it just stuck around because we loved it. Or, perhaps that really is what aliens look like and someone stumbled onto some secret documents in Area 51, or had a real-life UFO encounter, and they've been pushing an agenda of truth onto us. Further proof of my theory that sci-fi is actually just predictive media, and that we'll all be living Star Wars someday. These memes will make us prepared.
