Fails are what makes us human. Though we might call them out, laugh at them, and even dedicate a whole website to categorizing and gawking at them, we love fails because they remind us that we're real.
Computers don't make mistakes, but humans certainly do. It's why pencils have erasers. That's why there's such a thing as a "mulligan." It's why when we see Scarlet take that tumble, we laugh. Sure, we laugh because she fell, but we also laugh because we see ourselves in her. Who hasn't gotten a little too into singing/dancing/performing for ourselves and done something embarrassing as a result? If you said "not me," first of all, I'm not sure I want to be your friend, and second of all, I don't believe you. We all make mistakes, it's just a matter of how public they are. Unluckily for the people responsible for these design fails… they're for all to see.
