Here's a joke for ya–What's an introvert's favorite Christmas movie? … Home Alone.
If there's one thing an introvert loves about the holiday season, it's the weather. Cozy, bundled, and hiding from the blustery winds outside, introverts can lush about in the house all day with no qualms, gladly canceling plans and enjoying their safe space on their own. No need for small talk with the cat, and there are no surprise run-ins with people you know from high school. Your house is wonderful, lovely, and all yours.
However, the flip side is that introverts are constantly being dragged into holiday social events. The holiday work party, Christmas cookie decorating with the in-laws, family dinners, and the worst… High school reunion get-togethers at the old dive bar watering hole while everyone's in town. YIKES.
So, for those of us introverted folks who are happily anti-social, empower yourselves to say, 'No' this season. Because 'tis the season for twinkly lights, warm beverages, soft socks, and a good movie marathon–not dartboards, bar chatter, and telling strangers what you do for a living.
