Living with your parents well after you graduate from college has become a consensus among young adults. Since a college degree is, more often than not, no longer enough to grant a graduate their first actual job, it is extremely difficult for young adults to be able to afford rent, so they end up going back to their parents while they figure out what to do with their lives.
Most parents accept their kids with open arms and help them in their journey. But other parents, can't seem to accept the idea that at age 22 their kids are still not fully independent, and that can cause some strain to their relationship with their kids. This is what I assume happened with the parents and their daughter in this Reddit story, after they demanded their daughter pay rent while also paying her dues as a maid in their house, all because she wanted to save some money after college.
